Fifteen percent on the label, a middleweight in the mouth.
Ben: One limestone parcel over 900 metres up, called Valdelobas — valley of the she-wolves. The winemaking argues against everything you expect from Ribera del Duero: pale-ish colour, gentle extraction, mostly used barrels — hardly any new oak. About 3,500 bottles, and in 2022 they simply didn't make it — the year wasn't good enough.

In your glass: A middleweight from big-red country: pale-ish in the glass, a medium grip like tea that never over-steeped, and a calm, precise freshness — finesse rather than bite. The 15% on the label never shows up as heat — this is the bottle that proves alcohol isn't body. Pick it when you want elegance over muscle; if you're after the classic dark Ribera punch, this will feel like the opposite — on purpose.
Serve it: 15 minutes in the fridge — it likes 16°.
You’ll probably love it if: You want elegance over muscle — fifteen percent on the label, a middleweight in the mouth.
Skip it if: Want the classic big Ribera → Finca la Atalaya (€29.50). Want the full heavyweight → Mil Cantos (€34). Same money, a different story → Gimonda Viceré (€35) — Tuscan Sangiovese, released only when the tasting says it's ready.
